Baptism Testimonies: Sojourner Corey Smith

And now, Corey Smith tells the story of his salvation, which led to a recent baptism at Sojourn Gathered:

My name is Corey Smith and I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior a few weeks ago. Before being saved, I was a very different person.  I was searching for happiness in all the wrong places. I was looking for it in things like school, basketball, and friends.  But I knew something was missing.  I knew there had to be more to life.  I knew something was not right.

Then one day one of my close friends invited me to church. After a while, I began to go every chance I got.  I enjoyed hearing God’s Word!  I took time to read the Scripture and also got involved in small groups as well as other church activities. I began to realize what I was seeking.

I realized my life was full of sin.

I realized that the things of this world could not fulfill me.

Not long after that, I accepted Christ and asked Him to take control of my life.  I stand before you this morning praising and glorifying God and looking forward to growing as a Christian each and every day.  I know now that I no longer have to seek happiness because it comes through Jesus Christ our Lord!
