The name “TravelBlog” is a play on the name of our church family: Sojourn Community Church.

A sojourn is a trek, a quest. A journey from bondage to freedom, from darkness to light, made possible by the grace of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Like the ancient children of Israel, like the writers of the Gospels, Acts and the epistles, we tell the story of God's work in our lives while we travel.

Baptism Testimonies: Sojourn’s Tim LeFebvre

We will celebrate another Baptism Sunday on July 11. If you would like to take this important step in identifying with Christ and His bride, email baptism@sojournchurch.com by Sunday, July 4.

And now,Tim LeFebvre tells the story of his salvation, which led to a recent baptism at Sojourn Gathered:

I grew up in a Christian home with my parents and two younger sisters.  We regularly attended church, but I relied on my parents’ faith to save me until I was a teenager.

While attending a Christian sports camp, I heard a sermon about how my parents’ faith will not get me into heaven, but that I needed to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to be actively seeking Christ in my day to day life.  This revelation turned on a light bulb in my heart that it was time for me to declare my own faith in Jesus Christ.  It was time for me to realize what I had heard all my life growing up and it make it my own.  To proclaim that I am a sinner, but through Jesus Christ alone, I am saved by God’s grace because He paid the ultimate price, death, for my sins.

Since becoming a child of God, the weight of my sins no longer is a burden to me because of God’s forgiveness.  I feel God’s protection over my life and my decisions.  I feel blessed by God by being surrounded by godly friends that challenge me in my faith.  I still struggle with becoming too self-involved, but I know that with God’s forgiveness and grace that I can have victory in my struggle.  I rejoice in the fact that I know that through Jesus Christ that I have eternal life in heaven awaiting me!
