The name “TravelBlog” is a play on the name of our church family: Sojourn Community Church.

A sojourn is a trek, a quest. A journey from bondage to freedom, from darkness to light, made possible by the grace of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Like the ancient children of Israel, like the writers of the Gospels, Acts and the epistles, we tell the story of God's work in our lives while we travel.

The next Baptism Sunday at Sojourn Gathered is January 17. Register by January 10 to identify with Christ and His Church in baptism.

And now, Sojourner Marcus Flynn shares his story of salvation, shortly before being baptized at the Germantown campus on November 15, 2009:

Two years ago I gave my life to Jesus Christ. I knew He died for me and my sins, and I became a Christian. After receiving Jesus into my life I began to read the Bible and learn about the life of Jesus and what it means to be a His follower.

A friend told me about His relationship with Jesus and how it had helped him wrestle through an issue similar to something I was struggling with. It was then that I accepted Jesus into my life and started a building a relationship with Him.

By God’s grace, I have had much success in tackling the everyday struggles of life by placing my faith in Jesus. He has overcome my sin, and he Has given me strength to wrestle against temptation.
