The name “TravelBlog” is a play on the name of our church family: Sojourn Community Church.

A sojourn is a trek, a quest. A journey from bondage to freedom, from darkness to light, made possible by the grace of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Like the ancient children of Israel, like the writers of the Gospels, Acts and the epistles, we tell the story of God's work in our lives while we travel.

Don’t Forget The Power Of The Cross

Yesterday I preached on “The Cross” in the second message of our Faithmapping sermon series.  The cross of Christ provides both pardon and power. Some camps of Christendom emphasize pardon alone – a “get out of jail free” card. But … Continue reading

Grand Daddy Long-legs, A Roaring Lion, A Toothless Serpent, and You

Have you ever heard the myth about the Daddy Long-legs spider?  The myth says that Mr. Long-legs is the world’s most poisonous spider, but his teeth are too small to penetrate human skin. In 2004 the show Mythbusters exposed this … Continue reading

New Sojourn Baptism Video

The video that we played this week at Sojourn Gathered says it all about the Sojourn “drama” ministry.  We don’t do clowns; we do communion and baptism.  These symbolic enactments, given to us by our Lord, are sufficient. If you … Continue reading
