Getting Ready For Sunday: How to Prepare for Sojourn Gathered, 1.8.2012
Hey friends, we pray you started the New Year right, realizing your hope and identity is in Christ and what he has done, not what you’ve done or resolve to do.
This Sunday we resume our Genesis sermon series. Our pastor will preach from Genesis 12:1-9, the Call of Abraham. This story introduces us to one of the key figures in the Bible, and all of history. Even today, all who are in Christ are called the “children of Abraham.” Warring tribes in the Middle East call themselves the “children of Abraham.” The big monotheistic religions of the world trace their roots back to Abraham, and claim to be following the God who called Abraham.
Who was Abraham? Why did God call him. What did God want? What did God promise Abraham and his descendants? Who are those descendants?
Come prepared to receive God’s Word for us in Genesis 12, together this Sunday.
Songs we’ll sing include:
- O God Our Help In Ages Past from our The Water and the Blood album. Hear O God Our Help In Ages Past here.

See you Sunday.
