Getting Ready For Sunday: How To Prepare For Sojourn Gathered, June 26, 2011
This Sunday our pastors will continue teaching us from The Last Meal, our summer sermon series. As the title implies, this series is examining the Last Supper of Jesus Christ and His disciples, on the eve of His crucifixion. It is rich with Jesus’ teaching, as we’ve seen so far (if you’ve missed any sermons in the series, listen to them from our Sojourn Church podcast on iTunes or listen in the sojournchurch.com Resource library).
This week our pastors will teach from John 15:1-17. In this passage, Jesus tells His followers that He is the true vine, the Father is the vineyard keeper, and they (we) are the branches. He tells us how to “produce fruit,” and how the Father is glorified. It’s a rich passage, calling for our full attention. Meditate on it in the days ahead, before we explore it together this Sunday.
Songs we’ll sing together include:
- Compel My Heart To Sing. Hear it in full from our The Water And The Blood album page.
- Abiding City. Hear a sample by Sandra McCracken at Amazon.com
- Abide With Me. Hear a sample by Indelible Grace at Amazon.com
See you Sunday.
