The name “TravelBlog” is a play on the name of our church family: Sojourn Community Church.

A sojourn is a trek, a quest. A journey from bondage to freedom, from darkness to light, made possible by the grace of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Like the ancient children of Israel, like the writers of the Gospels, Acts and the epistles, we tell the story of God's work in our lives while we travel.

Getting Ready For Sunday: How To Prepare For Sojourn Gathered, September 26

Last Sunday we celebrated the 10th anniversary of Sojourn, with parties at each of our three Louisville campuses (photo here courtesy Ginny Hobbs, from Sojourn East).  This day was also the public launch of our campus in Jeffersontown.  If you missed the photo blog posts for each of these celebrations, check them out here:

This week we leave the pastoral epistles behind, and our pastor will preach from the book of Philemon.  This is a very short letter, so you can read the whole thing in one sitting this weekend, before the service.  Then come prepared to learn together.

We’ll hand out a free one-week devotional on Philemon at Sojourn Gathered.  You can also download the PDF right now in our Resource Library here at sojournchurch.com.

We’ll sing these songs together, among others:

  1. Gifted Response. Hear a sample by singer-songwriter Ashmont Hill at Last.fm
  2. Lead Us Back, from our Before The Throne album. Hear it in its entirety at Facebook.com/sojournmusic
  3. The Power Of The Cross. Hear a sample recorded live by singer-songwriter Stuart Townend, at Last.fm
