The name “TravelBlog” is a play on the name of our church family: Sojourn Community Church.

A sojourn is a trek, a quest. A journey from bondage to freedom, from darkness to light, made possible by the grace of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Like the ancient children of Israel, like the writers of the Gospels, Acts and the epistles, we tell the story of God's work in our lives while we travel.

God Gave Financial Summit Preview: Family Finances

On Saturday October 29th at our Midtown campus, we’ll be holding a series of breakout classes designed to help you grow in the everyday management your finances.  This event will be a practical extension of part one of the God Gave sermon series our pastors just completed (if you missed any of these sermons, you can download them here).  There will be something offered for everyone, whether you are in need of some basic budgeting guidance, have questions on insurance, taxes, basic investing, or would like to learn about some more advanced topics on personal investing and taxation of small businesses (to sign-up, click here).  For the next two weeks, we’ll be previewing some of the breakout sessions and their instructors.

At Sojourn, we are blessed with multiple pastors who model leadership in the area of financial stewardship.  If you’re looking for some really down to earth help on how to lead your family in this regard, come hear Executive Pastor Brian Howard and his wife Chandra discuss together how their family, personal experience, and how they seek to honor God with their finances.  Brian and Chandra have been married for 17 years and have four kids.   Throughout Brian’s 20-year pastoral ministry, he has been passionate about and devoted much time to financial coaching and helping families with financial planning.

Family Finances: Living Wisely Within Your Means

What to expect:

  • A ground level discussion from Brian and Chandra on ways to “do” finances within the context of a gospel-centered marriage and family.

Who should attend:

  • This class is for anyone and everyone, regardless of age, life stage, or financial competency.

What time does it begin & end? Also, when I went to sign up, it indicated that the form was no longer accepting submissions. Is this event full/closed?

    Thanks for your help.
