Sojourn Community Church

The name “TravelBlog” is a play on the name of our church family: Sojourn Community Church.

A sojourn is a trek, a quest. A journey from bondage to freedom, from darkness to light, made possible by the grace of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Like the ancient children of Israel, like the writers of the Gospels, Acts and the epistles, we tell the story of God's work in our lives while we travel.

Got Questions? New Sunday Q&A Sessions Are Coming, Plus Children & Baptism, Vision Campaign

This past Sunday the pastors kicked off our new “A.D.” sermon series in the Gospel of Matthew.  This Sunday the 14th, we’ll be in the Gospel of Mark, and then it’s up,  up and away until we finish in Revelation this December.

One of the challenges that Pastor Daniel and the other teaching pastors feel is to adequately cover the text during Sojourn Gathered.  Of course this is why we provide free daily devotionals in print form on Sundays, and on the web at devo.sojournchurch.com.

They’ve got a little something extra in store for us this year: beginning the end of this month you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions that come to mind during the sermon and your devotional reading during special Q&A times after the services.  The pastors will hold these “Q&A Sunday” about every second week.

Here are a couple other opportunities coming up to ask questions about the gospel and the vision of Sojourn:

  • The first SojournKids “Ask Class.” This is a new class that parents and kids will take together.  It’s geared up to answer questions that children may have about salvation and about baptism at Sojourn.  This is a “pilot” version of the class, so we’ll only hold it at the Midtown campus this time.  We will expand it to the East campus in the future.  You can attend this two-week class at 11:15am on Sunday, March 21 and 28.

About Bobby Gilles Bobby Gilles is Director of Communications for Sojourn Community Church, author of “Our Home Is Like A Little Church” and worship songs such as “Lead Us Back” and “Warrior.”

Waking up tired and sticky, the cold shower never felt so good!  I was up by 5:15am as we took turns taking showers, packing, and cleaning up evidence of our stay at the guesthouse for the past 5 days.  I applied one more layer of insect repellent from head to toe as we waited for […]
