The name “TravelBlog” is a play on the name of our church family: Sojourn Community Church.

A sojourn is a trek, a quest. A journey from bondage to freedom, from darkness to light, made possible by the grace of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Like the ancient children of Israel, like the writers of the Gospels, Acts and the epistles, we tell the story of God's work in our lives while we travel.

Men and Women: Nothing Much Changes — Insights From The Final Worship Recording Session

Remember when you were in Junior High school?  Remember the dances — the girls would all stand around together and talk in one place, while the boys all stood around in another place?  Okay, keep that image in mind and watch this 15-second video, from the gymnasium of The 930:

The more things change, the more things stay the same.  We love each other though — it’s just that those girls are scary.

In all seriousness, the setting for this video was the final recording session for our upcoming worship CD — the first of two worship albums inspired by the hymns of Isaac Watts.  We’d just begun to gather in the gym to add choir-like vocals to a few of the songs.  More Sojourners arrived after I shot this video, and then we had a great time singing the songs.  More info on the project, and this session, will follow soon on sojournmusic.com.
