Nothing Can Separate Us: Original Song & Reflections On Romans 8
The other day I was thinking about — you guessed it — Romans 8. And you might as well get used to it, because I’m not going to get over being excited about this sermon series and our goal of having all of you memorize Romans 8 over the next 39 days.
The truths expressed in Romans 8 are central to the Christian faith, and they have been central to Sojourn Community Church since our founding, over ten years ago. In fact, as I was thinking about Romans 8 the other day I remembered a song that deacon Jesse Eubanks wrote during the early days of our existence.
It was called “Nothing Can Separate Us,” from an album he created entitled Meditation, Contemplation and Prayer Song. You can listen to it here:

And check out these lyrics:
Not angels or demons
Not the depth of the sea
Not the height of the heavens
Can keep your love from meNothing can separate us
Nothing can get in our way
Nothing can come between usThere is no danger
There is no threat
There is nothing to make me believe
That you love me any lessNothing can separate us
Nothing can get in our way
Not heaven or hell
Can come between usReach for me
I need to know you’re whispering inside
Reach for me
I need to know you’re standing by my side
Jesse’s entire CD is available for purchase for $5 (S&H included). For more info, just email him.
I’m hoping that this season of Lent, and our reflection and memorization of Romans 8 will stir more songs, more testimonies, more stories of change and gospel transformation. If you’re on Facebook, make sure you post testimonies, encouragements, and anything else that this project stirs in your heart to Facebook.com/40sojourn.
