The name “TravelBlog” is a play on the name of our church family: Sojourn Community Church.

A sojourn is a trek, a quest. A journey from bondage to freedom, from darkness to light, made possible by the grace of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Like the ancient children of Israel, like the writers of the Gospels, Acts and the epistles, we tell the story of God's work in our lives while we travel.

Pastor Nathan Ivey Talks About The Granny Challenge: What’s Your Idea For Ministering To The Elderly?

Yesterday, Pastor Nathan Ivey launched “The Granny Challenge” at the Seed website.  This is a call for ideas on how to minister to the elderly. Although Sojourners are doing just that, Pastor Nathan wants to make sure we’re giving everyone a chance to share ideas on how best to obey the biblical commands to honor and take care of the elderly and widows.

I caught up with Pastor Nathan for a five-minute chat on our free podcast, Inside Sojourn.  I asked him what he meant by “Seed will put cash toward the best idea and help you make it happen!” on seed.sojournchurch.com. We also talked about ways Sojourners are serving the elderly in this community now, how to get plugged in, what the Bible says about it and more.
