The name “TravelBlog” is a play on the name of our church family: Sojourn Community Church.

A sojourn is a trek, a quest. A journey from bondage to freedom, from darkness to light, made possible by the grace of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Like the ancient children of Israel, like the writers of the Gospels, Acts and the epistles, we tell the story of God's work in our lives while we travel.

Photo Blog: Missions Sending Sundays To Peru & Boston, Guest Speaker Russell Moore

This past Sunday was a big one for the Sojourn Community, as you’ll see in these photos by Chuck Heeke (Midtown Campus) and Troy Harvey (East Campus).

Dr. Russell Moore honored us by delivering a sermon on the doctrine of adoption during the 9am and 11:15am services at Midtown.

Dr. Moore is a good friend, to me and to Sojourn. He’s also a gifted preacher, author, blogger, podcaster and the Dean of the School of Theology and Senior Vice President for Academic Administration at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

I have treasured the Galyon’s gifts in our church staff — Matt as an intern and Sara as a member as our office manager.

They’ll be moving to Boston, where they will be part of a church planting effort. In your prayers this week, give thanks to God for the Galyon’s, the Peercy’s and Dr. Moore, for being willing servants of Christ in Louisville and beyond.
