Sex, The Song Of Solomon, And How To Deal With Intimacy Issues & Sin
Yesterday Pastor Daniel preached a no-holds-barred sermon on the Song Of Solomon. Director of Group Life Mike Crowe summed it up well in his weekly letter to community groups:
Sex is not a human invention. Sex is God‘s design, His creation, and His gift to human beings. Therefore it‘s good! It‘s to be celebrated and enjoyed in the context of marriage – just as the Song of Solomon poetically and passionately testifies. However, like all good gifts from God, sex can be sinfully abused.
As human beings, we are built to be lovers. Ultimately, we will view and pursue sex selfishly, seeking immediate pleasure and satisfaction, or we will submit to God‘s design and find deeper pleasures as we trust that He knows what is best for us when it comes to our sexuality.
Coinciding with this, I’ve just posted a series of documents from Counseling Pastor Robert Cheong, which Pastor Robert uses in counseling couples and singles. You can view these study aids at sojournchurch.com/Resources now. Topics include:
