The name “TravelBlog” is a play on the name of our church family: Sojourn Community Church.

A sojourn is a trek, a quest. A journey from bondage to freedom, from darkness to light, made possible by the grace of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Like the ancient children of Israel, like the writers of the Gospels, Acts and the epistles, we tell the story of God's work in our lives while we travel.

Should The Church Talk About Numbers, Stats and Goals? Pastor Daniel Montgomery Weighs In

Daniel preaching with BibleSojourn has thrown out a lot of number projections, stats and tangible goals so far this year during our vision campaign. And churches all over the world conduct capital campaigns, membership drives, evangelistic rallies, youth camps and other events, ministries and outreach efforts. “Numbers” play a part in the publicizing and reporting of these efforts.

Is this wrong? Is it right? Are there dangers, and how do we avoid them? What does the Bible say? Does Sojourn sometimes “get it wrong,” and have to change course?

Sojourn Lead Pastor Daniel Montgomery talks about these issues in a short audio interview on our free Inside Sojourn podcast, available on iTunes, RSS, other podcast directories and by direct audio streaming.

Listen to this discussion with Pastor Daniel now, through the Audio Acrobat player.
