The name “TravelBlog” is a play on the name of our church family: Sojourn Community Church.

A sojourn is a trek, a quest. A journey from bondage to freedom, from darkness to light, made possible by the grace of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Like the ancient children of Israel, like the writers of the Gospels, Acts and the epistles, we tell the story of God's work in our lives while we travel.

Sojourn Pastor’s Exit: Bryce Butler Sent Into Marketplace:

Today at all Sojourn services we played the following video announcement:

Personally, Pastor Bryce hired me as Director of Communications in early 2009 after I’d worked as a volunteer in that role for several months. I’ll miss him as I’m sure all the staff will, but we wish him the best. As noted in the video, you’ll still see Bryce around as a member of the Sojourn community.

As you saw in the video, next Sunday, September 11 we will hold a reception for Bryce and Bethany Butler from 2-4pm at Sojourn Midtown. Join us.

We also announced today that Kevin Jamison will join us in October as full time Campus Pastor at Sojourn East. Kevin is far from a stranger to the Sojourn Community. The church he founded in Ohio, The Oaks, is a Sojourn Network church that we’ve supported since its initial planting a few years ago. Kevin and our Lead Pastor Daniel Montgomery are close friends. This is a major win for the East campus and all of Sojourn.

We’ll have much more about this in the week’s to come, but for now here is a short audio interview I conducted with Pastor Kevin several months ago.

About Bobby Gilles Bobby Gilles is Director of Communications for Sojourn Community Church, author of “Our Home Is Like A Little Church” and worship songs such as “Lead Us Back," “Warrior,” "Let Your Blood Plead For Me," and "All I Have Is Yours."
