The name “TravelBlog” is a play on the name of our church family: Sojourn Community Church.

A sojourn is a trek, a quest. A journey from bondage to freedom, from darkness to light, made possible by the grace of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. Like the ancient children of Israel, like the writers of the Gospels, Acts and the epistles, we tell the story of God's work in our lives while we travel.

When The Great Physician Puts On A Clinic …

This past Sunday I preached “The Gospel Of God’s Grace” from Mark 2:13-17.  I also told you about our Medical Clinic on Saturday, February 12 from noon to 4pm. Mark 2:17 says, “Jesus didn’t come to the righteous but the sick …”

One of the best ways we can teach that Jesus Christ is the Great Physician is by helping the sick — many of whom have lost jobs and health insurance in today’s economy. We’ve done this before at our Midtown Campus, and we plan on doing it many more times. In fact, we’re hoping that many of you from the East and J-Town Campuses will come on February 12 and get a vision for how you can do this in J-Town and on the East End. And we hope you southern Indiana Sojourners will get experience so you can do this at our upcoming New Albany Campus.

This is about extending grace — that’s why it’s free. We’re not asking our guests to pay a fee or make a donation. It is not money, but the love of Christ which compels us to be ministers of reconciliation in a broken, hurting city and world.

Join us, February 12 at Sojourn Midtown. Whether you are a medical professional or you have no medical skills at all, we have opportunities for you. Get all the details and register here.

We’ll also have a free clothing closet and food pantry, so you can donate to that. The main needs for this pantry include shoes, coats, shirts, pants, reading glasses and new socks and underwear.
